Curious Cove Camp

Last week we went on a camp to Curious Cove. We had to spend Monday travelling there. We stopped in lake Rotoiti. We continued to the town of Picton where we got on a water taxi to Curious Cove. It is a camp operated by Kiwi Ranch. When we arrived we got told our bunk rooms. The bunk rooms were small cabins. There were two beds. The cabins were arranged into blocks. In my room was Mackenzie. Next door there was Angus and Yotam. Down there was Kyle and Matthew, Alexander and Kyle (a different Kyle) and Callan and Dillon. After dinner we played the game HOGANS HEROES!!!! It is a really fun game. This is how you play it...
  1. Have 2 people at each end of a field or playing area. They are the markers
  2. Have the Adults hide on the playing area with torches.
  3. Have Mr B the jail warden.
  4. IT NEEDS TO BE DARK!!!!
The Kids start at one end of the field and have to run up to the top to get a mark. If the adults spot them they have to go to jail. You can escape jail! The objective of the game is to get as many runs as possible!
On the first night I only got one mark

The next day we did the flying fox. the flying fox is really fun but it really really REALLY fast! I went on twice. When it was Callan's turn they asked if he had life insurance. He didn't so they released the flying fox. Callan didn't know weather to scream, spew, laugh, cry, faint or try to get off. It was hilarious. Then we had pies for lunch. Then we went swimming and kayaking. I got flipped ON PURPOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then I jumped of the wharf 6 times. The water was super cold. Later after diner we played Hogans Heroes again. I got 5 runs. Jail is so easy to escape from.

THE DAY AFTER THAT we went on an easy stroll in the park called MT kahikatea. It was easy after some of the hikes I have done. It climbed to 600 meters. Mt Ryall was 1200 meters high and it was the same steepness but was shingle with no trees. Shingle is loose rock and no trees means it was hard to hold onto. And yeah, Mt Ryall had patches of snow and.... BUT THATS ANOTHER STORY. Mt kahikatea on the other hand was easy. There was a viewing point. There was an awesome view. That night we played Virus. I think you know how to play that.

ON THE FINAL DAY...
We went on the Curious Cove launch and went to ships cove. On the way I saw some little blue Penguins but EVEN THOUGH THEY SAID THERE WAS DOLPHINS THERE WASN'T ANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ships cove is where Captain Cook (who was murdered in HAWAII by the way) first saw the Cook Straight. We had lunch there. Lunch was hot dogs. Thinking about them makes me hungry. On the beach there were crabs. Lots and Lots and Lots and Lots and Lots and Lots and Lots and lots of crabs. Some people caught them in shells of mussels. Then we went fishing!!!!!!! I didn't have a rod so I used a landline.  I caught 3 Blue Cod (YUM!) but they were (slightly) to small NOOOOOOOOOO!! That night we packed our bags.

THE ACTUAL FINAL DAY
We left on the water taxi, went to Picton and stopped in Lake Rotoiti. There were lots of old boats there. Then we drove back home.

THE END!
