I think the Commonwealth games are: a sporting event where countries from the commonwealth (British empire) compete for medals that are gold silver and bronze. it is a lot like the Olympic games but only for the commonwealth. this year it is being held in Glasgow and Glasgow is part of the commonwealth.
Some of the sports are:
- Kayaking
- Hockey
- Athletics
- Shot put
- Javelin
- Swimming
- Weight lifting
- Track and field
- Discus
- Archery
- Basketball
- Netball
- And many more!
Other facts I know are: They are being held in Glasgow. They are once every 4 years. New Zealand competes in the games. Once it was held in New Zealand.
