This book's author is Joy Cowley. It is realistic fiction. It is really good and I recommend it to anyone who likes realistic fiction.


In this book...

William and Mellissa (Mellissa wears high heals on bouncy inflatable castles) get forced into helping their grandparents fix their batch in the middle of the Marlborough sounds. They have no phones, no internet (Mellissa brings her phone) and not a lot to do when they could have been in Queenstown... For them this is NOT a holiday. It is torture. 

Main star - choose something about ANZAC that interests you

For this main star I chose to do the name ANZAC. ANZAC stands for Australia New Zealand Army Corps. They were going to be Australasian Army Core. Australasia is New Zealand and Australia put together. They were first officially called ANZACs at Gallipoli. I found out that in second world war and in the Vietnam war they were called ANZACs.

For homework, we had to make ANZAC cove in Lego or in minecraft. I made a mesa biome in minecraft. I built some trenches. I used iron bars as barbed wire. I made a blown up ship and made the water bumpy to look like explosions. I made landmines and ladders. The landmines blew up. I had burning areas where shells had hit the ground. I had ladders leading up the cliffs and a turret that fired arrows or fire charges. I also added explosions up the cliff. In shrapnel valley which I added there was 2 ambush stations and red poppies in the area when a group of soldiers was ambushed. I will add in a TNT gun and boats. At night in minecraft I will take photos and test out the TNT gun. It was fun making it!

This Book is about 4 children, Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy. Lucy finds a magical world called Narnia in a wardrobe, ruled by the evil white witch. This book was written by C.S. Lewis.

My activity:
I am Going to make the wardrobe in minecraft. I will add a portal to make it go to another dimension. In the dimension I will make it look like Narnia.

ANZAC biscuit review

WALT: read food labels

This was the graph that our class made about food and nutrition. For it we brought in boxes of cereals (no food inside) and reviewed them all on their nutrition information. To do this you need to find the nutrition information graph on the box. Then on the graph find the "Avg Qty per 100 grams" part on the box. Find the labels on the side of the graph. The ones you need to know are the fat, sugar, sodium (salt or sodium chloride), energy and also dietary fiber. Then look at the 100 grams part across from the label you want too find out about. Then read the numbers across from it. Sugar and fat need to be under 10 grams unless it has nuts or fruit. If it does it needs to be under 25 grams. Sodium needs to be under 400 mg, dietary fiber needs to be over 5 g because it is good for you. Last, energy needs to be under 500 KJ. If you play sports it is OK to have more but if you don't play sports the energy turns to fat. In the end the best foods were light and tasty and also wheatbix from both companies. Some foods like berry berry nice (I had it) were good but foods like coco snaps and rice snaps were not healthy. This is what we did today. It was AWESOME!

Main star - Do something to help community

For this main star me and my family went to an isolated part of Cobden beach. We had our dinner on the beach. For dinner we had homemade subway. on mine I had: ham, cheese, carrot, red pepper and lettuce. Mum made homemade bread. After dinner we went to pick up rubbish. Me and Mum found a bone and gave it to Billie. Here are some picks of the rubbish.
